In this post, we will learn to sketchnote 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Love is. In this sketchnote we used a lot of Valentine images and icons to create a lovely sketchnote of this verse.
Sketchnoting 1 Corinthians 13
In this video, I show the process I used to sketchnote 1 Corinthians 13. It is an awesome verse that is hard to live by sometimes. It is also hard to sketchnote. It has a lot of negative and nebulous things to sketchnote like envy, proud, self-seeking, anger for example. I tried to draw the opposite of those things and sometimes I just used a sketchnote element to covey part of the verse. As you can see below, I struggled with the flow and placement of things. I broke this verse into 14 distinct sections. It was a challenge to get everything into one page. I think the final product above flows much better than the one below. I don’t get it right the first time, every time. Practice makes better.
The Process
Here’s my first attempt. I was not happy with the spacing or flow. 14 elements is a lot to fit into a letter-sized piece of paper. As you can see I made some major changes from this draft to the final above. I think the final project flows better.
I hope you all have a lovely Valentine’s day and get to spend it with people you love.
Looking ahead
I am working an a flip book using 1 Corinthians as the verse for this book. Stay tuned for the template and finished book. It’s a cool project.
