Adding a visual element – even a doodle helps you process what you’re seeing or hearing, but drawing stick figures or doodles you’re “writing” what you’re learning on your brain twice – once by hearing or reading and once by drawing. This is called dual coding. This helps you process information better, you’ll recall faster and retain information longer.

You can use sketchnotes for anything, but I have found that using it for sermon notes and Bible study have made my study time more meaningful.
