Acts 11:21 AND THE HAND OF THE LORD WAS WITH THEM Over Memorial day we visited a the Clever Assembly. I finally got my sermon-sketch notes colored (I used water-color pencil if you’re interested). It was a great service; I really felt the Lord’s presence in that little church. The message was great with a note to myself to read up on James more. It
Civa – I am a member of this very cool organization called CIVA – Christians in the Visual Arts. Their new source book arrived and I’m on page 44. This is a picture of a banner I did for Lake Williamson Christian Retreat in Carlinville, Illinois. Its printed on canvas and is 24” wide and 60” long. It’s a great worship banner for the sanctuary!
Philippians Week 2 of the Philippians series:. The verse for this week’s sermon was about the fruit of righteousness. I used the generic Philippians cover and put the verse inside a pear. The pear seems to be universal symbol for a fruit. I think it’s because of its distinctive and easily recognizable shape. And what a great verse to strive to have discernment to be
Philippians Starting a new sermon series on Philippians. This is such a great book! I designed an old hand written letter complete with wax seal and put a post mark in the upper right hand corner with a 4:4 in the center. Pastor Phil is pastor at Lakeland Baptist Church in Carbondale, Illinois. Here’s the link to his post: http://www.lakelandchurch.org/10301/newsletterentry/entry_id/358153/Newsletter-Entry In the meantime my prayers are with the folks in Moore Oklahoma.
Women’s Meeting-Container Gardening – Ezekiel 17:8 Friday I led a gardening workshop at LifeSpring Community Church, http://www.discoverlifespring.com/. As I prepared I was struck by the number of verses in the bible that relate our spiritual walk with garden analogies. The first thing you have to do before you plant is to make sure you have good soil. And so before we can be any good
Sermon Sketch notes on Psalm 8:3-4. When you consider how AWESOME GOD is, it’s an overwhelming thought that HE would even care for us. We are so small in the realm of the heavens and the earth, yet God loves us and cares of us and is concerned about what we are concern with. (Ps 138:8). He’s interested in me and helping me find my
Bulletin Cover Psalms 8:3-4 Here’s the bulletin cover for Sunday continuing our 10 week doctrinal series. Here’s the link if you’d like to listen to the sermon: http://www.discoverlifespring.com/782095. This was a fun cover to design pondering why God in all his glory and power would even care for us. We are so small compared to all His wonderful creations. Wow! What an awesome God
